Thank you for visiting my online portfolio. My name is Sara Johnson and I am currently a graduate student in the Secondary Education MAT Program at the University of Arkansas, with a concentration in English. Welcome to my Disciplinary Literacies class portfolio. For this portfolio, I have selected various artifacts and reflected on different experiences from this course to put together and present to the public. All the pieces I share in this portfolio have been intentionally considered and specifically chosen to show what I have learned over the course of the class. Each artifact and experience can be backed up by research and articles that were studied, analyzed, and discussed in great detail during the time of the Disciplinary Literacies course. Being in this course has allowed me to further my knowledge of content literacy and disciplinary literacy, as well as continue my growth overall as a preservice teacher. I have learned many essential strategies, skills, and concepts that I will carry on into further educational environments. Participating in this course has also helped develop me as a lifelong learner, and I will continue to use these artifacts and the research behind them in my studies and into my professional career.
