What I Am Reading

Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell. A fun Young Adult novel that many of my students talked about. I continue to have a passion and enjoyment for YA novels, and love being able to discuss or recommend them to my students.

For White Folks Who Teach in the Hood...and the Rest of Y'all Too by Christopher Emdin. A book my mentor and I decided to read together after having many discussions about the importance of culturally relevant pedagogy. I am a life long learner, and am constantly wanted to sharpen my skills as an educator, and this book has been a great tool.

Stiff by Mary Roach. Recommended by a friend, this unusual book allows the reader to learn about a profession that assists our daily lives more than we know. Typically I am found reading fictional novels, but I am trying to expand my knowledge and become a diverse reader, and this so far is a great start.
